Caught up in the many trials of life it is all to easy for us to fall in the trap of filling our prayer time with a long list of our wants and needs. To spend most of our precious time bending God’s ear wh our desires. While God is eager to hear our petitions and is ready to grant us our needs, we must remember that like us, God also desires to hear words of thanks. Yet all too often, pressed for time, we rush pass this little, but important act of appreciation, and jump right into our Lord please do this, please take care of that, and we need this, or we need that.
Sometimes we need to follow the words of this old hymn and spend time talking with the Lord, not with a list of needs, but with a list of thanks. Lifting up our voice in praise for all the good things that He has done for Him. Not only will this act of appreciation bring joy to His heart, but it will help to draw you closer to His side as you bring to your mind all of the many things He has done for you and by this simple act, realize just how much He takes care of you.
